The operations this program is built around.
- Gathering systems
- Compression
- Pipelines
- Processing
- Storage
Name the peril first. The coverage follows.
Pipeline rupture
A line failure is a property loss, a pollution event and a business interruption in the same hour. The program is built around all three, not just the first.
Sudden and gradual pollution
Gradual releases are the midstream exposure a sudden-and-accidental endorsement does not reach. Pollution is written to cover both.
Business interruption
Throughput stops when a compressor or a plant does. Business interruption and contingent business interruption are written for the time it takes to repair.
Contractual liability
Gathering agreements, interconnects and construction contracts each assign liability. Each one is read for what it assigns before the coverage is placed.
High-limit umbrella towers
Midstream contracts can ask for limits beyond what one carrier writes alone. Excess is layered across markets to reach them.
Property and equipment
Compressors, processing equipment and storage, scheduled and valued, with contractors equipment and inland marine for what moves.
Coverage we write for midstream
- Commercial general liability, with contractual liability and additional insured for master service agreements
- Energy property, rig physical damage, contractors equipment and inland marine
- Pollution liability, site and contractors, including produced water and drilling fluids
- Commercial auto for heavy and oilfield fleets, including hired and non-owned
- Excess and umbrella liability in layered towers
- Workers compensation, Texas subscriber and non-subscriber, with USL&H where operations are over water
- Business interruption and contingent business interruption
Risk management we deliver
- Master service agreement and contract review, including anti-indemnity statutes and knock-for-knock analysis
- Contractual risk transfer program design and subcontractor certificate compliance
- Loss control, safety program support and experience modification management
- Claims advocacy with adjusters who have worked oilfield losses
Midstream questions, answered.
What is the difference between sudden and gradual pollution coverage?
A sudden-and-accidental endorsement responds to a release that starts and is discovered within a short window. Gradual coverage responds to the slow release, a weeping flange or a leaking line, that midstream operations are exposed to and that standard forms exclude. Midstream programs here are written for both.
How are umbrella towers layered?
The lead umbrella sits over the general liability, auto and employers liability, and each excess layer attaches above the one beneath it until the contract limit is reached. Spreading the tower across several markets is how limits get to where a midstream contract puts them.
Do you write business interruption for compressor stations and plants?
Yes. Business interruption and contingent business interruption are both on the coverage list, and for midstream the contingent piece matters: an upstream shut-in or a downstream outage can stop your throughput without touching your equipment.
